Libratone Too Bluetooth: Listen In The Shower Or The Beach
One of the best things about Bluetooth is that it can offer freedom- after all, what’s more appealing than wireless tech and the chance to leave some of the cables behind (or get them out of your hair). But too often, Bluetooth speakers are still too big, heavy, or simply not built for true convenient portability- many models lack weatherproofing, meaning you have to think before taking them out or worry about bringing them into specific places.
The Libratone Too is a cute, tubular, splashproof Bluetooth speaker that brings the brand’s signature character to an inexpensive and ultra-portable model. Slim enough to fit into a bottle holder or pocket, there are a few standout features- like the strap that allows you to attach it to a tree branch or bike handle, and the aforementioned water resistance (boasting an IPX4 rating). The rechargeable battery can last 12 hours or more, enough to get your music going for a full day at the beach or at the park, where the Too feels quite at home and is sure to draw admiring looks thanks to it’s friendly aesthetic.
We’ve seen several Libratone products before, from the original Zipp a few years ago to the stylish home decor Loop. The One Click is the most similar, almost a sister model in fact- similar color schemes, nice rubberized finish, and the strap that is less flexible but more stable with the Too. There are dual 1.5-inch active drivers and a passive bass radiator, and the smaller form factor definitely brings a reduction in bass- the Too offers a bright, crisp, and poppy sound, but the low-end is a bit restrained.
Available in four colors- a Caribbean green, cerise red, a dark graphite grey and a little cloudy grey- the Libratone Too is a Bluetooth speaker that aims to be fun. But the controls could be touchy- literally- as they are handled via a light-up touch sensitive panel that can be easily tapped accidentally, pausing your tunes. We didn’t get a chance to try it out, but we liked that Libratone included the ability to pair two of the Toos together for multi-speaker functionality. Expect to spend around $149 online for an approachable, compact companion for your Music.
